This design is based on the P-47 (“LM-Z”, serial number 41-6330) nicknamed “Moy Tavarish” (“My Comrade”) flown by Colonel Hubert Zemke whilst commanding the 56th Fighter Group. While under Zemke's command, the 56th FG known as “Zemke’s Wolfpack”, claimed over 500 of the eventual 665 ½ German aircraft the group was credited with destroying with Zemke claiming 15 ¼ of those. On October 30th, 1944, Zemke was forced to bail out of his aircraft and was captured. At that time he had completed 154 missions and had a confirmed 17 ¾ aerial victories. His military decorations include the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star x2, Distinguished Flying Cross x 8, Purple Heart and Air Medal x 4. Colonel Zemke passed away August 30th, 1994 aged 80.
