This design is based on the P-38 Lightning (Serial Number 42-66506, Constructors Number 1017) named "Porky II" flown by Major Edward “Porky” Cragg of the 80th Fighter Squadron, 8th Fighter Group. Major Cragg was an American fighter pilot who achieved the status of Triple Ace with 15 confirmed kills and 2 probable. He served as commander of the 80th Fighter Squadron, known as the “Headhunters” until he was reported missing in action over New Britain on December 26, 1943. He was only 24 years old at the time. His military decorations include the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross x 5, Purple Heart and 7x Air Medals.
